Her 90 base AA DPS makes DFAA a narrow carrier-match tool; Sonar more often supports survival around caps and torpedo lanes.
Best positioning
Use concealment, rudder, and repair timing to kite and punish pursuit. Sonar Atago can work closer to contested water; AA Atago should stay near teammates if the match demands carrier defense.
Main mistake to avoid
Do not overexpose for torpedoes or overrate the AA booster on weak base AA. Atago wins by staying alive, resetting vision, and making opponents chase into bad angles.
